International Mini-Conference of ASCA/NICA Deleuze Reading Group
Amsterdam, June 26-27, 2014

Call for Papers
On June, 26 and 27, 2014, ASCA will host International Mini-Conference of Deleuze Reading Group in Amsterdam. The event, composed of a keynote lecture by Joshua Ramey and a one-day workshop, will bring together international academics and/or artists whom work with Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy.

Emerged from the ASCA/NICA Deleuze Reading Group that has been concentrating on different aspects of his oeuvre, including film-philosophy, biopolitics, Bergsonism, and metaphysics, this conference focuses on the creative and practical aspects of Deleuze’s philosophy. Moreover, it concerns with how Deleuze’s philosophy can be productively practiced within humanities. As Deleuze together with Guattari propagated a method of experimentation that encompasses a search for the virtual potentials of bodies that can emerge in actuality, their philosophy lends itself well for conceiving of new ways of thought in both academics as well as outside it.

We welcome any paper abstract or creative work that puts Deleuze’s philosophy to practice. (Students can earn 1 ECTS.) Possible topics that can be addressed, but are not limited to are:
– Affective experiments in art and/or science;
– Spatial practices;
-Bio- and neuropolitics;
-Thought in practices;
-Spiritual or esoteric practices.

We strongly encourage participants to bring their own work(s) to be demonstrated during their presentations.
